Privacy Policy

Manuel Developer ("we", "us", or "our") operates the SCG - Star Citizen Guide mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, a display name (Citizen ID), and an encrypted password. This data is managed through Firebase Authentication.

Device Information: We collect your device's push notification token (FCM token) and platform type (Android/iOS) to deliver push notifications. We also detect your device language to display the App in your preferred language.

Notifications: We store notification history (title, body, type, timestamp, read status) associated with your account to provide a notification inbox.

Local Storage: We store minimal data locally on your device using SharedPreferences, limited to the date when the donation modal was last displayed. No personal data is stored locally.

AI Chat: When you use the StarAI chat feature, your messages are sent to Google's Gemini AI service (via Firebase AI) to generate responses. Messages are not stored permanently and are cleared when you leave the chat screen.

• We do NOT collect location data
• We do NOT access your contacts, camera, microphone, or files
• We do NOT use analytics or behavioral tracking tools
• We do NOT display advertisements or use ad tracking SDKs
• We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes
• We do NOT process payments within the App. Donations are handled externally through Buy Me a Coffee

• To authenticate your identity and provide access to the App
• To send push notifications about price alerts, game updates, and new vehicle releases
• To personalize your experience by displaying your Citizen ID
• To process your queries in the StarAI chat feature using Google's Gemini AI
• To detect your device language and display the App in Spanish or English

Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for authentication, cloud database (Firestore), push messaging (FCM), and AI chat (Firebase AI / Gemini). Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy

UEX Corp API: We fetch Star Citizen game data (commodity prices, vehicle specifications) from the UEX Corp API. No user-identifying information is sent to this service.

Buy Me a Coffee: The App contains an optional donation link to Buy Me a Coffee. If you choose to donate, Buy Me a Coffee's privacy policy applies. No donation data is collected by our App.

Google Fonts: We use Google Fonts for typography. Google's privacy policy applies to font delivery.

• All communications use HTTPS encryption
• Firestore security rules ensure users can only access their own data
• Passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication and are never stored in plain text
• Android app data backup is disabled for security
• API keys are stored in environment variables, not in source code

Your account data and notification history are retained as long as your account exists. FCM tokens are updated on each app launch and removed when you sign out. In-memory caches (commodity and vehicle data) are temporary and cleared automatically after 5-30 minutes.

• You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
• You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings
• You can request access to the personal data we hold about you
• You can sign out at any time, which removes your device's notification token

Our App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us so we can delete it.

• Internet: Required to communicate with Firebase services and the UEX Corp API
• Network State: Used to check network connectivity before making API calls
• Notifications: Required to deliver push notifications (permission requested at runtime on Android 13+)
• Vibration: Used for notification feedback

SCG is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Cloud Imperium Games or Roberts Space Industries. Star Citizen is a registered trademark of Cloud Imperium Games. Game data provided through the UEX Corp API is crowdsourced from the Star Citizen community and may not always be accurate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
